World Seniors Darts Tour
York Barbican is set to host it's first ever major darts tournament when the Jenningsbet World Seniors Matchplay takes place in September.
Legendary 16-time World Champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, will headline the 16-player field and is part of a blockbuster Saturday Evening Line Up where he will take on 3 time World Champion John Part.
A total of 7 World Champions will appear with major titles topping 100+ between them, it’s the most decorated line up of Darts for an event in Yorkshire.
Defending Champion is Robert Thornton who defeated Taylor in ‘extra time’ last year, the match format being unable to separate them. Thornton comes up again current Lakeside World Champion Neil Duff.
One new face to the Seniors Tour will be John Henderson, sure to bring huge support from North of the Border, but he has a tough opener against former Seniors Masters Champion David Cameron.
Other Stars include Martin Adams, Glenn Durrant, Trina Gulliver, Scott Mitchell and the dancing Texan… Leonard Gates.
The full schedule can be seen below and tickets can be obtained for a single session, a day pass or the weekend pass – where you will see every single dart thrown and our champion crowned.
Jason Francis of the World Seniors Darts Tour said: “York Barbican packs out the snooker each year, this is another chance to being an annual TV Darting Event in the City so we hope all sports fans will come along and join the party”
The event will take place on September 2-3, 2023 with sessions at 1pm and 7pm and is live on TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport)
